GAVIN COURT

With a background in functional fitness & obstacle course racing, Gavin has the know-how to create incredible tactical athletes. “My passion is to help people change their lives and be happy and confident with themselves, inside and out. I know through personal experience just how difficult and challenging life can be sometimes. Learning the benefits of fitness training with specific programming making improvements in your overall fitness level we can work together to transform you, mentally and physically."

LIAM HOULTON

Liam is a UKSCA accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach with over 10 years of industry experience. Since finishing university in 2012, he has forged a career as a professional coach, helping people achieve their performance, health, fitness and lifestyle goals. From August 2016 to December 2022, he was a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Armed Forces, training military personnel for field Army service and deployments. He has a wealth of experience working with athletes from a variety of different sports including rugby, hockey, bobsled, Olympic weightlifting, track and field and CrossFit. As one of the lead coaches at MoreCore, he programmes and coaches the CrossFit and Hyrox sessions, and directs most of the sports-based and youth-based classes. Liam is looking to help grow the gym and bring in more sports teams and athletes for strength and conditioning sessions. Whilst prioritising individual goals Liam believes in building well-rounded robust athletes, be it for sport or everyday life. He prioritises movement quality and efficiency to maximise overall fitness and physical longevity.

LAURA HOULTON

Laura is a Level 3 Personal Trainer, British Weightlifting Level 2 Olympic Lifting Coach and CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Laura also has several years coaching experience under her belt in CrossFit and Olympic Lifting as well as a vast and successful competition history in both sports. Laura is now opening her coaching expertise back up to our members, with a specific focus on Olympic Lifting (as that is her main passion and area of expertise).

GILL COURT

A lifelong devotion to fitness and sports has facilitated Gill’s marathon-running accomplishment, mountaineering achievements and a dedicated yoga practice amongst other things. Whilst her career in sales, marketing and HR within the healthcare industry spanning 40 years has left Gill with a lasting passion for health, nutrition, people and well-being.

SAM CHASTEN

Growing up abroad, Sam's background was primarily in competitive athletics, cross country and rugby. Returning to the UK in 2013 to pursue a career as a S&C coach, Sam transitioned his passion for competing to training and coaching, working with a variety of athletes and developing his skills during university. Since then, Sam has worked as an outdoor instructor, and has diversified his training base with climbing, freediving and high diving. Sam approaches coaching with a holistic "ground up," approach, focusing on a solid foundation on which to build success, whatever that looks like for the individual.

GRACE HAWKEN

Grace, has a degree in Strength and Conditioning, and is a level 1 CrossFit coach and level 2 PT qualification. She has previously competed in gymnastics and weightlifting, and has since made the natural progression to CrossFit. "I absolutely love coaching and training, but when I’m not in the gym, you can find me swimming in the sea or adventuring on Dartmoor. I’m really excited to become part of the MoreCore community!"
